It is a therapy utilising the power of your own body cells. Stem cells do not have a predetermined shape or task and thus have the potential to develop into many different cell types. In the widely practised application of bone marrow concentrate as well as fat cell concentrate, autologous adult stem cells are used.

Stem-cell therapy: adult stem cells from bone marrow and fetal tissue cells
Adult stem cells, also referred to as somatic stem cells, are obtained, among other sources, from the bone marrow or fat tissue of an adult and can develop into certain predetermined tissue types. For example, stem cells can develop into cell types of the supporting and connective tissue such as bones, cartilage, muscle, ligaments, and tendons. Adult stem cells are present in every body – and so is the possibility of autologous replacement from within. The stem cells are obtained under anaesthesia by puncturing the pelvic bone with a thin needle or by harvesting fat tissue.

In stem cell therapy, specific cells are obtained from bone marrow or fat tissue. These new cells are transformed into the cells that have been damaged by disease or injury. Treatment with bone marrow concentrate is, for example, suitable for the treatment of the following orthopaedic indications:
  • Joint wear (cartilage wear, arthrosis)
  • Non-healing bone fractures (pseudo arthrosis)
  • Tendon- or muscle injuries

New Building by Christoph Ingenhoven Architects
The new Klinik Gut in St. Moritz is designed as a state-of-the-art medical facility that integrates a broad spectrum of clinical functions within a compact structure.

At the southwestern entrance to St. Moritz, the new Klinik Gut forms part of the historic spa quarter of St. Moritz-Bad. This area, long known for its mineral springs and therapeutic traditions, is shaped by the baroque park of the Bäderzentrum, which has been framed over centuries by landmark buildings such as the Kempinski Hotel and the Heilbad St. Moritz. Within this context, the clinic occupies a designated site that completes the ensemble and strengthens the spatial definition of the park. The new building responds to its prominent position with a compact volume and a clear architectural expression, continuing the history of the place while providing a contemporary medical facility for the region.
