Parkinson’s Disease Rehabilitation Through Occupational Therapy

Neuropsychological Rehabilitation of Parkinson’s Disease
Neuropsychology uses preserved abilities to restore and/or compensate for impaired cognitive abilities. Neuropsychological support focuses, among others, on the following areas: • Strengthening verbal memory abilities • Improving executive functions (e.g., managing multitasking, planning daily tasks) • Reducing attention deficits (e.g., information processing speed) Various approaches are used for this, such as: • Cognitive-oriented games • Specialized computer software (Rehacom, iGerip, Cogniplus®) • Pen and paper exercises
Speech Therapy Rehabilitation of Parkinson’s Disease
During speech therapy sessions, the work is primarily aimed at reducing speech and voice disorders, as well as swallowing disorders. These sessions are conducted using types of exercises such as: • The LSVT® method (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment), which helps improve voice and articulation • Therapeutic nutrition (adapting food texture, teaching techniques for protecting the airway, etc.) • Exercises to improve the motor skills of the buccolingual-facial area Our speech therapists can also facilitate the implementation of alternative communication methods to help patients interact better with others.

Valmont Clinic focuses on providing the highest quality of treatment. Price for Rehabilitation might vary from patient to patient, depending on individual needs. Basing on previous recent cases, rehab might cost 2300-2900 CHF per day.
